FE The Hump

We'll follow the Mangorei track until it joins the Pou?kai Track. A short way along the Pou?kai Track, we'll veer onto the Hump Track and begin the steep scramble to reach the summit of the Hump (at 1292 m, higher than Henry Peak, but without the ladders.) Trampers need to be happy grabbing rocks and robust vegetation to haul themselves up. Expect a picturesque summit with interesting cairns and magnificent views in all directions if the weather is good. The construction of the new Pou?kai Hut is scheduled to begin in April so it will be good to see what progress has been made.
