Trips 2012

Trips Programme for New Trampers

In the years 2006 through to 2011 the New Plymouth Tramping Club has run a series of easy tramps (3-4 hours) and fit easy tramps (3-6 hours) on Sundays which were open to the public ( by application). These tramps proved popular despite adverse weather conditions on some occasions. NPTC will continue to organize such tramps periodically in 2012.

During the first quarter of 2012 there will be a tramp as follows:

Sunday 11 March 2012 : Maude Track to Mangakotukutuku Falls
This is an easy tramp of 3 to 4 hours up the attractive lower section of the Maude Track to the falls. After lunch in that vicinity the return will be by the same route.

This tramp will suit people wishing to give tramping a go. If you go on it and would like to participate further you can do so by joining the club for the modest sub of $20 per year. For information on this tramp call club member Dave Stewart on 7584446.

As an alternative, if you can tramp on a Wednesday, we alternate easy and fit/easy tramps throughout the year and you would be made welcome to these. We also have tramps for members on most Saturdays and Public Holidays

Should you wish to become a member straight away, call Club Treasurer Derek Andrews on 753 9855 and you will receive a copy of our latest trips programme which gives details of our tramps for the coming quarter.
